Types of Shingles We Install

Architectural Shingles

Also known as dimensional or laminated shingles, architectural shingles offer enhanced durability and a more premium appearance. With a thicker, multi-layered construction, they provide:

  • Superior wind resistance (often rated for winds up to 130 mph)
  • Enhanced dimensional appearance that mimics the look of wood shake or slate
  • Longer lifespan compared to standard 3-tab shingles
  • Better warranty coverage

Our Shingle Roofing Process

1. Initial Consultation

We assess your current roof condition and discuss your needs. We help you choose the right shingle type, color, and style for your home and budget. Many times, gutters and downspouts may need to be replaced and we can help with those as well.

2. Proposal & Agreement

We provide a detailed estimate and answer questions. Once approved, we finalize scheduling and move forward.

3. Preparation

We protect your property and landscaping before beginning work.

4. Removal (if needed)

Old roofing materials are carefully removed and properly disposed of.

5. Deck Inspection

We inspect and repair the roof deck as needed to ensure a solid foundation. When extensive deck repairs are needed, a permit is typically required at that point.

6. Underlayment Installation

High-quality underlayment is installed for added protection.

7. Shingle Installation

Shingles are installed according to manufacturer specifications for maximum performance.

8. Ventilation & Flashing

Proper ventilation and flashing are installed to prevent future issues. We typically add a vented ridge to most homes; this will help with removing excess heat from your attic which can lower your energy bill.

9. Final Inspection, Cleanup & Walkthrough

We thoroughly clean up and inspect the completed roof. Once finished, we review the completed project with you and answer any questions to ensure everything meets your expectations.

Preparing Your Property for a Roofing Project

Starting a roof replacement is an exciting upgrade for your homeboth in appearance and protection. A little preparation on your end helps everything run more smoothly, safely, and efficiently.

Outside Work Area

The space around your home becomes an active work zone during roof installation. Crews need room for ladders, equipment, materials, and safe movement around the entire perimeter of the structure.

To prepare the exterior:

  • Move patio furniture, grills, planters, and outdoor dcor at least 1015 feet away from the home
  • Store hoses, garden tools, bird feeders, and loose items in a garage or shed
  • Relocate firewood, storage bins, or anything leaning against the house
  • Remove or secure decorative items attached to gutters or fascia

Keeping the perimeter clear allows the installation team to work safely and efficiently while helping protect your belongings from falling debris.

Protecting Landscaping and Plants

We understand your landscaping is an important part of your home's appearance. We take precautions to minimize impact on your yard and garden, and you can help too.

What we do:

  • Install protective tarps on the ground around the work area to catch debris and nails
  • Use magnetic rollers and careful hand-sweeping for thorough nail cleanup
  • Take care when positioning ladders and equipment near landscaping
  • Protect gutters and downspouts during tear-off and installation
  • Shield windows with plywood or protective covers when needed during tear-off

What you can do:

  • Move potted plants, delicate shrubs, or container gardens away from the house
  • Mark particularly delicate or valuable plants with small flags or stakes
  • Trim back any branches or vegetation touching or near the roofline
  • Mow your lawn short before work begins to make nail cleanup easier

We also recommend turning off automatic sprinklers during the project. Dry ground helps maintain a safer work area and makes cleanup more effective.

Driveway Access and Jobsite Logistics

Roofing installation requires deliveries of materials, equipment, and disposal containers placed on-site. Ensuring clear access helps the project stay on schedule.

Please keep in mind:

  • Park personal vehicles on the street or away from the driveway to keep access clear
  • Unlock gates and provide clear access to all sides of the home
  • Secure pets indoors or in a safe area away from the work zone
  • Notify us of any overhead power lines or other obstacles near the roof edge

These simple steps help avoid delays and allow the crew to move materials efficiently throughout the project.

What to Expect During Installation

Roof replacement involves noise, debris, and activity during working hours. Being prepared can make the experience much more comfortable for your household.

We recommend:

  • Keeping windows closed during tear-off and installation to reduce dust and noise
  • Notifying neighbors in advance about the project timeline
  • Planning for temporary disruption to satellite dishes or roof-mounted equipment
  • Identifying any outdoor power outlets if needed for equipment use

Our goal is to complete the work efficiently while delivering high-quality results and maintaining a clean, safe work environment.
